Where is Wilderness Lodge?
Wilderness Lodge is in the Magic Kingdom Resort Area, not far from the Polynesian Resort.
What will I find in my guest room?
Most have two queen-size beds, a table & chairs, TV, closet, nightstands, mini-safe & balcony. Some rooms
have a queen-size bed & a bunk bed. The bathrooms have separate vanity areas with double sinks. A
newspaper is delivered to your door every morning. Refrigerators are available for $10 per night.
Where are the best room locations?
Standard view rooms overlook the parking lot, but are close to the lobby.
Woods/Lodge view rooms are nice, especially those that overlook the lobby, although they can get a bit noisy, especially in the evening.
Pool/courtyard view rooms overlook the Silver Creek pool area, which can get noisy in the daytime. Those on
the first floor open out onto the pool area, which can be handy for families with children.
Rooms on the top floor have closed-in balconies which restrict the view. Rooms at the very far ends of each
wing are a fair walk from the lobby area, but are closer to the boat dock and beach area.
Soom rooms on the higher floors at the northwest end of each wing offer lovely lake views.
Most of the rooms with king beds are wheelchair accessible rooms, and have roll-in showers.
If you have a first floor room on the south (villas) side, you will have to go down in the elevator (or stairs) from
the lobby, which is actually the second floor. On the north side the first floor rooms are accessible via a ramp,
past Roaring Forks. Only certain woods view rooms on the north side offer views of the Magic Kingdom.
How many people do the rooms accommodate?
Guest rooms have a maximum four-person occupancy.
Which are the smoking rooms?
Floors 3 and 5 in the South wing are smoking rooms.
What are the benefits of the concierge rooms?
They features robes, hair dryers, irons and ironing boards in all the rooms. All rooms non smoking, and nightly
turn-down service is provided.
Complimentary snacks and beverages are provided in the concierge lounge.
Where are the concierge rooms?
They are located on the 7th floor.
What happens at check-in?
You'll receive your room key (plastic card), a small 'guidebook', park maps, and a copy of 'The Silver Creek Star'
the resort's newsletter. You'll also have the option of leaving credit card details so that you can charge
anything you purchase during your stay to your room card.
Is there a separate check-in area for the Villas?
No, guests staying at The Villas at Disney's Wilderness Lodge check-in at the same check-in desk as the
guests at Wilderness Lodge.
Are there childcare facilities?
Cub's Den is the Lodge's supervised children's activity center, where they can enjoy computer games, Northwestern arts and crafts, Disney movies and dinner. Call 407-939-3463 for reservations.
Kindercare offers in-room babysitting. Reservations should be made 24 hours in advance. Call 407-827-5444.
Is there a games arcade?
Yes, you'll find Bells and Buttons Arcade located next to Wilderness Lodge Mercantile.
Is there a children's playground?
Yes, it's located next to Teton Boat and Bike Rental.
Is there a character breakfast?
No, there used to be a character breakfast at Artist Point, but it was stopped.
What is the 'Flag Family'?
One family or party is chosen each morning to go up to the roof with one of the rangers, and raise the flags
on the roof. The view from the roof is well worth the early morning start! They then receive a certificate, photo frame, and vouchers for a free breakfast from Roaring Forks. It is very popular, so enquire if you can be the
'Flag Family' when you check in.
Are there any other activities available?
A Hidden Mickey Hunt is available from Guest Services. Ask at Bell Services for a kid's activity book. A Lodge
tour is offered (free) at 9:00am from Wednesday - Saturday, ask at Guest Services for details. Other activities
such as crafts and storytelling are often available, be sure to ask at Guest Services. There is also a volleyball
court next to the beach.
Where can I get refillable mugs?
Refillable mugs are available at Roaring Forks.
Can I watch the fireworks from the Wilderness Lodge?
Magic Kingdom fireworks aren't visible from the Wilderness Lodge beach or marina area. Certain rooms
offer restricted views of the fireworks.
Is Wilderness Lodge on the monorail line?
No, the resort isn't on the monorail.
Where can I find Disney transportation?
The Magic Kingdom can be reached by ferry boat. The launch can be found beyond the pool area, on the left.
There is no bus service to the Magic Kingdom. A boat also runs to the Contemporary Resort, and Fort
Wilderness. Buses run to Disney-MGM Studios, Epcot, Animal Kingdom and Blizzard Beach. For Downtown Disney and Typhoon Lagoon, direct buses only begin at 4pm. Before then, board the Crockett bus to TTC and transfer.
Fort Wilderness can also be reached by the Boone bus.
Where can I make dining priority seating arrangements or purchase tickets?
Priority seating for most Walt Disney World restaurants can be made by touching the WDW DINE button on
your in-room phone or by visiting Guest Services. Theme Park tickets are available at either the front desk or
Guest Services that is located on the lobby level.
Where can I rent boats?
Mercury WaterMouse mini power boats, canopy boats and SunTracker pontoon boats may be rented at Teton
Boat and Bike Rental on the shores of Bay Lake. The boats can be taken out onto Bay Lake and the
neighbouring Seven Seas Lagoon. Mongoose bicycles of assorted sizes may also be rented.
Can I get to Fort Wilderness from Wilderness Lodge?
Bike paths connect to Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground, where you may see wildlife and stop at the
petting farm and horse ranch. I'd advise wearing mosquito repellant and wearing trousers.
What time does the geyser erupt?
The geyser erupts every hour on the hour from 7:00am to 10:00pm.
What is the name of the lake on the shores of which the Lodge sits?
That is Bay Lake, which links to Seven Seas Lagoon, the lake in front of the Magic Kingdom.
Where can I watch the Electrical Water Pageant?
You can view the Pageant from the beach, nightly at 9:35pm on Bay Lake.
Is there a swimming pool?
There certainly is! Beginning as a hot spring color pool in the main lobby, the water flows under the window
wall to become Silver Creek, a quiet contemplative setting in the upper courtyard. The creek widens as it
develops into a rushing, roaring waterfall adjacent to Overlook Point, and widens again into a feature pool
area which appears to be carved out of rockscape. A kiddie pool and hot & cold spas complement the
swimming area which seems to flow into Bay Lake. Lifeguards are on duty, seasonal hours vary.
Guests at The Villas at Disney's Wilderness Lodge can enjoy Hidden Springs Pool, a unique 'water hole' tucked away from the hustle and bustle. No lifeguard on duty here. Swimming pools are for the use of Wilderness
Lodge Resort guests only. Swimmer's aids are only allowed in the shallow water.
Are there towels available at the pool?
Yes, towels are available at the pool by the pool bar.
What time is the pool open?
Seasonal hours vary, check with the Resort Front Desk.
Is there a shop?
Yes, Wilderness Lodge Mercantile is located just off the main lobby, and offers Wilderness Lodge Resort
souvenirs, Pacific Northwest crafts, Disney merchandise, sundries, beer and wine, stamps, newspapers, film
and film processing.
Where can I buy groceries?
A limited selection of groceries is available from Wilderness Lodge Mercantile.
Is there a fitness center?
Sturdy Branches Health Club offers state of the art exercise facilities, dry sauna, and massages.
What time is check-in?
Normal check-in time is after 3:00pm for the Lodge, and after 4:00pm for the Villas.For early travellers, every effort will be made to get you settled in as soon as possible.
What time is check-out?
Check-out time is before 11:00am. Later check out may be requested. Express check-out is available to guests with American Express, MasterCard, Visa, Disney Credit Card, Discover, Diners Club or JCB.
Where do I get...?
Extra pillows, & blankets, bed rails, baby cribs, handicap aids, extra hangers, towels, refrigerators,
coffeemakers, or any other sundry items are available from Housekeeping.
Where are the nearest ATM locations?
There is a ATM located in the lobby. ATMs can also be found in each theme park, and at Downtown Disney. Additional ATMs are located at each theme park, the Downtown Disney Area, as well as all Resorts (lobby area).
Where can I purchase stamps and where is the mailbox?
Stamps can be purchased at the Wilderness Lodge Mercantile. The mailbox is across from Wilderness Lodge Mercantile. Metered mail is available at Front Desk.
Where do I find the ice machines?
Ice and vending machines are centrally located on all guest room floors.
Is there a dry-cleaning service?
Yes, laundry bags and lists are located in the closet in your room. One day service is available if received by 8:30am, and will be returned after 6:00pm.
Is there a guest laundry?
Coin-operated washers and dryers are located just beyond the Roaring Forks Snack Bar on ground floor level directly across from the elevators. Vending machines offer laundry soap and bleach, beverages and snacks.
Is luggage assistance available?
Yes, through Bell Services. When you arrive at the resort, someone from Bell Services will assist you to your
room with your luggage. When you are ready to leave, just touch the LUGGAGE/VALET SERVICE button on
the in-room phone. Gratuity not included.
If I use the package delivery service in the parks, where do I pick them up?
If you shop at any merchandise location at the Magic Kingdom Park, Epcot, Disney-MGM Studios, Disney's
Animal Kingdom Theme Park, or the Downtown Disney area, and choose to have your packages delivered
back to your resort, they can be picked up the following day at Wilderness Lodge Mercantile.
Does the Resort have wheelchairs available for guest use?
Yes, a limited number of wheelchairs are available at Guest Services. There is no charge, but a credit card guarantee may be required. A limited number or wheelchairs and motorized wheelchairs are available to rent
at the theme parks.
